Out of the gate “When Your Lips Are So Close”, co-written by Bamford, Byron Hill and Brent Baxter — locked up “the panel in the first week at radio and in doing so became the #1 Most Added Overall at Country radio that week.” It marked the first time in several years that a single debuted so strongly. “When Your Lips are So Close” saw a 525 play count racking up +319 new spins in its second week at radio surpassing Carrie Underwood’s “Cowboy Casanova” which gained 313 spins in 2009. Country Junkie, released on October 8th, 2013 debuted at #1 on the Nielsen Soundscan Country sales chart and #14 on the top 200 overall chart.

To celebrate the success of his Country Junkie release Gord Bamford hit the road for a Canadian Tour with celebrated Country Music superstar Reba McEntire. During his Canadian tour stops with Reba, Gord Bamford took the time to visit Children’s Hospitals across the country where he donated $100 000 from his Gord Bamford Charitable Foundation. Since creating the Gord Bamford Charitable Foundation back in 2008, Bamford has generated nearly $1.5 million thanks to an annual charity golf classic he hosts in Alberta every summer. Those monies have gone to support underprivileged youth and single parent families in Canada by supporting education, health care and music.
